Below are emergency notification systems relevant to residents and businesses in the Town of Johnstown.
As a reminder, we do also have Town tornado sirens. A tornado siren is an outdoor warning system designed to alert those who are outside that something dangerous is approaching; a tool once very important to most agricultural communities. It is really important, that you also sign up for other emergency communications that can alert you while you are in your home, traveling, listening to your headphones, etc. Both Weld and Larimer Counties have emergency alert communications systems that you can register for to receive notifications to your cell phone, email, and landline.
Larimer Emergency Telephone Authority, LETA, LETA911, is the Governing Authority for 9-1-1 in Larimer County Colorado.
LETA911 provides oversight to 9-1-1, the equipment, and the programs funded by LETA. Within this county region there are five 9-1-1 call centers, thirty government entities, one State University, and one National Park.
If you live, work, or are visiting Larimer County, you are covered by our programs, our emergency alert system, and various other programs like Text to 9-1-1, that are available in our area. Please check out our other pages to learn more about our programs.
CodeRed is an emergency notification system used to inform the public of immediate threats to health and safety. Weld County residents are encouraged to sign up to receive these messages. Help us help you in an emergency.
2023 Spring Clean Up Day will be on April 22 from 8am-1pm at the property on the southeast intersection of CR17 and CR46.5. During this Clean Up Day event, residents are welcome to make 1 trip in a car/SUV/truck or with a small trailer of up to 3 cubic yards to the event location to dispose of their refuse.
It's time for the annual cemetery clean up! Please have gravesite items (valuables, keepsakes, floral arrangements) cleaned up prior to March 31, 2023 so that the Public Works crews can give the cemetery its annual Spring Cleaning in preparation for Memorial Day.
