The Town of Johnstown has hired its first ever Assistant Town Manager. Mitzi McCoy will start with the Town as Town Manager on June 6 2022 and is already a dedicated Johnstown staff member. This position will join Town administrative leadership in delivering a high level of public service.
Johnstown, CO June 6, 2022 Mitzi McCoy has been hired as Assistant Town Manager ( with the Town of Johnstown Already a dedicated Johnstown public servant, Mitzi McCoy was previously the Town’s Finance Director. Ms. McCoy will start as the new Assistant Town Manager on June 6 2022.
Ms. McCoy has more than 13 years of management experience in municipal government, 3 of these years with the Town of Johnstown. Prior to starting with the Town in 2019, McCoy was the Finance Director for the Town of Frederick and prior to that for the Town of Milliken. She will complete her MBA in Business Administration at the end of this month and has experience in long term strategic planning. Ms. McCoy’s passion for a diversity of experience and learning, paired with her demonstrated leadership skills make her an exciting pick for the Town of Johnstown.
The role of Assistant Town Manager is an important role in that it provides a key leadership position to bring together the values and vision of the Town and Town programs and initiatives throughout Departments. As the ATM, Ms. McCoy will partner with the Town Manager and other department directors to develop strategies that create change to better serve the residents, businesses and visitors of the Town of Johnstown.
