Johnstown, CO - April 16, 2020 -- The Town of Johnstown declared the month of April to be Essential Workers’ Month at the remote Town Council meeting last Monday, April 6. The Town is appreciative of our essential workers every month, but recognizes the significance of these men and women who are still venturing out to work during this crisis.

“Our essential workers are on the front lines of this crisis keeping our communities going. It is with the utmost importance that we recognize these people who get up everyday and go to work not knowing what the day holds for them,” said Mayor Gary Lebsack. “Our sincerest gratitude to our essential workers, today and everyday, for their dedication and excellent work.”

The resolution was passed to “honor and thank those fighting from the front line of our new world” and notes, but does not limit our essential workers to, medical workers, retail workers, energy workers, telecom workers, financial workers, reporters and the media, construction workers, and manufacturers who have risen to the call of needed medical supplies

The Town encourages residents to continue to practice appropriate social distancing measures, to wear a mask, and to stay home when it is not necessary to go out, all in an effort to help mitigate exposure of our essential workers to COVID-19.
