The Johnstown Veterans Memorial LLC 501 (3) (c) will be unveiling a Veterans Memorial in Johnstown on March 25, 2023 at 1pm at Elwell Elementary School. The memorial, while being shown to the public for the first time at Elwell Elementary School, will move to its permanent home at the Eastern roundabout on Hwy 402 near I25 following the dedication.

Johnstown, CO – March 13 – The Town of Johnstown and local veterans’ organizations, which make up the Johnstown Memorial LLC, are excited to be able to finally show this masterful piece of art to the community, including those who have served this country. The Johnstown Veterans Memorial will be dedicated and unveiled at Elwell Elementary School at 1pm on March 25, 2023. Those interested in attending the ceremony should prepare to be outdoors during the dedication and bring a lawn chair if they would like to sit.

The unveiling ceremony will be about 30 minutes long and will be a nod to the heroes, past and present, who are a part of the Johnstown community. Viewers of the ceremony can expect to see the featured art of the memorial – large bronze soldier’s boots, a soldier’s rifle pointing down into the boots, helmet, and American flag. This will be the center of the memorial when the memorial comes to rest in its permanent place in the east most roundabout on Hwy 402 at I25. At its permanent location, the Veterans Memorial will also feature large boulders with commemorative plaques for each branch of the military.

Johnstown Veterans Memorial LLC is lucky to have been able to work with Carey and Amy Hosterman of Rocky Mountain Bronze Shop on the creation of this memorial. Johnstown Veteran Memorial LLC is also grateful for the memorial’s various sponsors and donors who all contributed to make this type of memorial a reality for our servicemembers. Lastly, Johnstown Veterans Memorial and the Johnstown Community, is exceptionally grateful for the sacrifices of those men and women who have served or continue to serve in our US Armed forces.
