Johnstown, CO – September 6, 2022 – Now home to nearly 18,000 residents, the Town of Johnstown is welcoming a new grocery store – Woods Supermarket! This month, Woods Supermarket (Woods) signed a lease with Ledge Rock Center and looks forward to opening its doors to Johnstown and area shoppers when complete. Construction on Ledge Rock Center’s development phase 1 has already begun, Phase 1 construction includes this project.

“Johnstown residents have been asking for a while about having another grocery store in Town, so we are excited to welcome Woods,” said Town of Johnstown Mayor, Gary Lebsack. “Since Woods began as a small country general store, we know that they will understand the fabric of our community, with our small-Town feel and close-knit connections.”

Residents and visitors can expect to see the grocery store on the east side of High Plains Blvd in Ledge Rock Center just south of Hwy 60. Woods Supermarket is at work planting roots in Colorado, and Johnstown is ready! Existing Woods Supermarkets feature produce, bakery, dairy, deli, meat, seafood, and floral sections as well as weekly coupon deals and phone app. The location in Johnstown will have similar services, well in line with the company’s mantra of being, Your Everyday Partner.

For the past 75 years, Woods has been well known in Missouri for its genuine and warm customer service and when asked about their first-time expansion out of state, President of Woods Supermarket, Jeff Woods says, “Colorado is a vibrant and growing part of America, combining natural beauty with a diversified and sustainable economic base. When we were approached with the opportunity to partner with Carson Development and Johnstown, we were excited to work with such a quality team to deliver this project.”

Town Council and Town staff work hard to provide residents the services and opportunities that the community is looking for, including working with companies that show dedication to understanding the area that they are developing. “Carson Development made an important connection for our community with space for a 85,000 sq ft grocery store  at Ledge Rock Center,” said Sarah Crosthwaite, Johnstown’s Economic Development Manager. “Woods will not only bring a highly requested service to Johnstown but will also be employing local talent.”

According to Frank Archer, CEO of Woods Supermarket, this includes more than 150 quality jobs, “As a certified Great Place to Work, we understand the importance to the Johnstown community of creating quality jobs. Our philosophy is that if we take care of our team, our team will take care of our guests. And if we do that, everything else will take care of itself. That enables us to partner with our community and make it a great place to live and work.”

The Town of Johnstown continues to prioritize the needs of the community as it embraces opportunities to work with new and existing businesses dedicated to providing excellent service. “We look forward to adding Woods to the Community That Cares,” concludes Mayor Lebsack.
