Johnstown, CO – January 19, 2021 – In December 2020, State of Colorado Senate Bill 20B-001 was passed to provide COVID-19 relief funding to small businesses. Senate Bill 20B-001 indicates that eligible businesses are businesses that have been impacted by COVID-19 restrictions, and have a reduced revenue of at least 20%. The specific business types eligible for relief funding are: restaurants, bars, breweries, wineries, distilleries, fitness clubs, caterers, and movie theaters. Small business relief funding programs are to be carried out by the County or approved municipalities.

Larimer County submitted for funding approval in early January and was approved. The Larimer County program exists for ALL eligible Larimer County small businesses and Johnstown businesses that are interested should apply through the Loveland Hub for the Larimer County Small Business Relief Fund. The deadline for the Larimer County Small Business Relief Fund is January 27, 2021.

Upon learning that Weld County opted out of applying for the State funding, the Town of Johnstown submitted an application to the State in early January to request support for the Town’s Weld County businesses. The Town was approved for funding last week for the Johnstown Weld County based businesses. The deadline for the Johnstown-Weld County Small Business Relief Fund is February 4, 2021. A completed application and all required documents are needed by this date.

Funding through both programs (Larimer County Small Business Relief Fund and Johnstown-Weld County Small Business Relief Fund) is determined by the small business’s generated income, the number of businesses who apply for the funding, and the amount of funding that the County and Town (separately) are approved for.

Interested businesses are encouraged to look at eligibility guidelines and required documents needed for both programs on the Town’s website. The link to the Larimer County program can also be found here: Johnstown.colorado.gov/covidgrants. As a reminder, Johnstown Weld County businesses should apply through the Town of Johnstown and Larimer County businesses should apply through the Loveland Hub for Larimer County (click here for the Loveland Hub).
