The Town of Johnstown has decided to move forward with another voucher based cleanup day this year as it did last year. With continued coronavirus concerns, it is safer to provide residents with the free opportunity to use the Larimer County Landfill than host a Clean Up Day at the Public Works Department. Vouchers will begin to be handed out October 27.
Johnstown, CO – October 4, 2021 – After much thought about how Johnstown’s Annual Clean Up Day would occur this year, Town Officials have decided to offer another Clean Up Voucher Program for 2021. Similar to last year’s October voucher program, this year residents will have 2 weeks to pick up their voucher from the Town Hall and then 3 weeks (and weekends) to redeem the voucher at the Larimer County Landfill.
Voucher pick up at the Town Hall will begin October 27 and continue through November 10. Vouchers will be redeemable at the Larimer County Landfill for regular landfill items starting November 12 until November 27. The 2021 voucher program still gives residents the opportunity to discard unwanted items with a voucher rather than paying the $10.00 drop off fee at the Town’s Public Works building.
The Town of Johnstown has plans to bring back the Annual Clean Up Day that took place at the Public Works Building in the years to come, but as a result of continued COVID-19 concerns, is opting to have a less hands-on event this year. An annual Johnstown Clean Up program is built into the contract with the new garbage and recycling service provider, Waste Connections, and is available to residents who use the Town’s contracted service.
Residents should be prepared to pick up their voucher at the end of October by bringing their state issued ID and a copy of their utility bill. You can find information regarding disposal at Larimer.org/solidwaste.
