With 1624 total ballots counted and election results finally certified, Vanessa Dominguez, Jesse Molinar Jr., and Dianne Morris will be sworn in as Town Council Members at the April 18 Town Council Meeting.

Johnstown, CO – April 15, 2022— The Town Clerk of the Town of Johnstown has certified the election results for the 2022 Municipal Election. According to the results of the election, the Town will be swearing in Vanessa Dominguez, Jesse Molinar Jr., and Dianne Morris to Town Council seats on April 18. Each member will serve a 4 year term. The Town will also be amending its Home Rule Charter to require at least 3 registered electors of the Town of Johnstown to be proponents of initiative and referendum petitions. This year, there was a 13% voter turnout. The Office of the Town Clerk sent out 11,000 ballots to registered voters prior to the election and received 1624 back. “We had a great voter turnout this year and we thank everyone who did vote,” said Town Clerk Diana Seele. “We also greatly appreciate our election judges who spent time to make sure that this was a secure and valuable election for our Town.” Make sure that you are registered to vote by our next Municipal Election on April 2, 2024.

Ballot Issue Results – Amending the Home Rule Charter to require that proponents of initiative and referendum petitions be represented by 3 registered electors of the Town of Johnstown. Simply put, you must be registered to vote AND a resident of the Town of Johnstown to be able to submit a petition to put a question on the municipal election ballot. Previously, the only requirement was that you needed to be registered to vote.
