Water was sampled and tested from 15 homes throughout the Johnstown area on February 12, 2021 as a result of community reports about water color and odor irregularities. The water was (and is) safe to drink and no unusual levels of tested elements were present.
Johnstown, CO - March 1, 2021 - As a result of some reports of water discoloration and strange odor, water samples from 15 homes in Johnstown were taken on February 12, 2021. Samples were tested by Colorado Analytical and the water was confirmed to be safe and within all Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) testing guidelines.
All samples were tested for Total Coliform and E-coli which came back ABSENT (indicating safe drinking water).
In addition to the above mentioned testing, the following were also tested and no unusual levels of any of the below were present:
Total alkalinity Bicarbonate Carbonate
Hydroxide Chloride Iron
Fluoride Potassium Nitrate Nitrogen
PH Calcium Magnesium
Sodium Sodium Absorption Ratio Total hardness
Sulfate Total Dissolved Solids Total Organic Carbon
