Parish Avenue Mill & Overlay Project 2022

The Town of Johnstown began the Parish Avenue Mill & Overlay Project in late August 2022. This project will improve the condition of Parish Ave from County Road 40 north to Charlotte Street, providing residents with a smoother, longer-lasting road to drive on. As work progresses, residents can expect to see variable message boards in the area with project information. 

This project is expected to be completed in 2 phases from August to October.

Community PSA - Town Hall phones may be down on Friday 9/16

On **Friday, September 16**, Town Hall will be installing new phones and updating the system.

This work may impact Town Hall's ability to send/receive phone calls for part of the day on Friday. If you call and are unable to reach us, please leave a message, considering trying again later, sending an email, shooting us a Facebook message, or coming into the Town Hall during business hours (8am-5pm).

This work will NOT impact emergency lines. Thank you for your patience as we get our system to its full potential on Friday.

Touch-a-Truck Event Rescheduled to Sept. 17

The touch-a-truck event originally scheduled for September 10, 2022 has been rescheduled to September 17, 2022. 

The Town wants to make sure that everyone who wants to touch-a-truck gets a chance to safety touch ALL of the trucks (and vehicles) participating at the event. As a result of the weather, the touch-a-truck event has been reschedule for September 17: same time, same place. 

 

CDOT Announcement - Road Work I25 and Hwy 60 Begins on September 12, 2022

Upcoming 21-Day Closure of Colorado Highway 60 

Monday, Sept. 12 at 6 a.m. to Sunday, Oct. 2, there will be a temporary full closure of Colorado Highway 60 at I-25. There will also be various intermittent ramp closures during the 21-day closure. These closures will allow crews to complete drainage, paving and striping work necessary for the new Diverging Diamond Interchange planned for this location. Please follow posted detour signage in the area. Construction is weather-dependent and subject to change.

Water Service Disruption - North 1st Street between Canal and N. Rutherford

8/30/2022 @ 4:30pm - Service has been returned to all impacted residents. Additional road work will be needed to patch on a later date. Road will be open to traffic by the end of the day today. 

8/30/22 @ 11:25am - Road Closed for repair work on North 1st Street between Raymond Place and North Rutherford Ave

Flushing Reminders: Careful what you put down the pipes!

The Town of Johnstown would like to remind residents to be mindful when flushing items down the toilet. Only flush the “3 P’s": pee, poo, & (toilet) paper. Flushing other items or materials down the toilet—even if they're labeled as flushable—can seriously clog your pipes. It can also create a backup at the Town's wastewater treatment facility that Utilities Department staff then have to sort out.
