Town of Johnstown 2022 Municipal Election includes Home Rule Charter Amendment Question and 3 Available Council Member Seats

The Town of Johnstown’s 2022 Municipal Election will be held April 5, the first Tuesday in April of 2022. The upcoming election includes one ballot question and the election of 3 Town Council members. Town of Johnstown elections are mail ballot only so residents can expect to receive their ballot in the mail by mid-March and can return their ballot by mail or drop it off in the Town Hall by 7pm on April 5, 2022.

Construction to Improve Safety of North 2nd Street Bridge to begin January 25, 2022

Construction on the North 2nd Street bridge between Columbine Ave and Canal Ave will begin on January 25, 2022. This project requires a complete closure of North 2nd Street between Columbine and Canal as well as related intersections in that area. Area residents and travelers to/from Roosevelt High School will be impacted by this closure.

Town of Johnstown Update on Regional Broadband Efforts

Since April 2021, the towns of Berthoud, Johnstown, Mead, and Milliken have been working together on an initiative to bring better broadband service to residents and businesses in the area. Throughout the summer, the public was encouraged to share their current experiences and needs related to broadband in the Broadband Exploration Survey.

Northbound Lane Closure of CO BLVD to HWY 60 on Friday Nov. 19, 2021

There will be a closure of the northbound lane of Colorado Boulevard to HWY 60 on Friday, November 19, 2021 as a result of immediate emergency repairs to the road. Northbound traffic will be directed to continue west of Colorado Blvd on a detour that will then return them to HWY 60 jin a way that avoids the work being done.

Johnstown Recycling Schedule Changing for Some Residents

The Town of Johnstown and Waste Connections have decided to split the Town into alternate recycling weeks (recycling and garbage pick up still on Mondays), with households west of Colorado Blvd recycling on Orange Week and households east of Colorado Blvd recycling on Blue Week. This change will go into effect on December 6, 2021.

Use your 2021 Clean Up Voucher November 12-27

The 2021 Clean Up Voucher can now be used at the Larimer County Landfill from November 12-27, 2021. Vouchers are good for any date in this time frame, weekends and weekdays included. Please note, occasionally heavy wind and rain cause the Larimer County Landfill to close. During inclement weather, please call or visit the Landfill’s website for more specific opening hours information.

 

Pick up your Clean Up Voucher Now until Nov. 10 at Town Hall!

The Town of Johnstown has decided to move forward with another voucher based cleanup day this year as it did last year. With continued coronavirus concerns, it is safer to provide residents with the free opportunity to use the Larimer County Landfill than host a Clean Up Day at the Public Works Department. Vouchers will begin to be handed out October 27.
